Texas Forest Trail Region Board Members and Partners at 2009 Annual Planning and Retreat
The Texas Forest Trail Region is a non-profit organization funded primarily through the Texas Historical Commission. Many county and community partners also contribute to the Texas Forest Trail Region.
Vision Statement We envision the Texas Forest Trail Region as a premier destination to experience the cultural and natural heritage of East Texas.
Mission Statement The Texas Forest Trail Region fosters economic development in East Texas by promoting heritage tourism.

Our board of directors is comprised of professionals from throughout the region who are passionate about economic development and historic preservation. Directors for 2009-10 are:

The organization has one full time employee, the executive director, who works with the board and Texas Historical Commission staff members.

Board Membership
The call for nominations to the Board of Directors is NOW OPEN for a September 1, 2010 start. Board applications are available for download here and must be returned to the regional office no later than 5 p.m. on Friday, April 23, 2010. (Want more info? Task force members are often recruited to the board of directors and membership for those groups is open and ongoing; we invite you to join us for a board meeting to learn about our current projects. Thank you for your interest and involvement in the Texas Forest Trail Region.
